Well that explains why he was calling for calm.

He put his daily operating kitty into an account that had withdrawal restrictions on it and put it all in one basket. Newbie.

from the opening line - "Sir Richard Branson has said his Virgin Atlantic firm could have been wiped out if Halifax Bank of Scotland had not been bailed out by Lloyds" - since when was HBOS bailed out by LloydsTSB? - the 2 companies are in proposed merger/takeover talks nothing more at this stage and even then there is serious doubt that the deal will go through.

perhaps what he was meaning to say was if the merger had not been given the go ahead he would still have not been able to get the money out..., maybe he is sh***ing himself too much to put words together ...bit like GB

Stratford Upon Avon? In my view a really good location for any meet would be Bedford. Reason: Road & Rail Links.

Virgin would have been wiped off because guarantee for £50,000 is only for personal depositors and small businesses.
And not for big companies, local authorities, charities etc.

So Virgin would not have seen any money back from HBOS.
But as it did not give people holidays there part of the deal they would need to return the money according the "Sales of goods act".

Hence bankrupt.

I am taking all my money out of LloydsTSB - (Meeting with manager Monday). I think Virgin Atlantic should go bust because it's the worst airline (next to Ryanair) I've ever flown with. Richard Branson also thinks he's God and has a pathalogical hatred of competition in any form.
